To command the year means to exercise spiritual authority over time, seasons, and events through the Word of God and faith-filled declarations. It is not about controlling God’s will — it is about enforcing what God has already spoken concerning your life. A command is an order that must be obeyed. It is to direct action, enforce obedience, rule, govern, and assert dominion with certainty.
Scripture shows that believers are not powerless observers of time. Through Christ, Christians have spiritual authority to speak into situations, seasons, and circumstances. Jesus said in Matthew 16:19 that He has given believers the keys of the kingdom, and whatever is bound on earth is bound in heaven. This reveals that spiritual initiative begins on earth through faith and authority.
The Bible teaches that there is a time to ask and a time to command. When God’s will is unknown, we ask. When God’s will is already revealed in Scripture, we enforce it through spiritual authority. The Word says believers are already blessed, healed, and delivered. These are established realities in the spirit that must be commanded into manifestation in the physical realm.
Job 38:12 says: “Have you commanded the morning since your days began, and caused the dayspring to know its place?”
This shows that time responds to spiritual authority. The day, month, and year are part of God’s creation, and creation responds to the voice aligned with God’s Word.
Joshua demonstrated this authority in Joshua 10:12, when he commanded the sun and moon to stand still, and they obeyed. Elijah commanded the rain to stop and later commanded it to return. Jesus commanded the storm to be still. He commanded death when He said, “Lazarus, come forth.”
These examples reveal a pattern: God works through the authority He gives His people.
Job 22:28 says: “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.”
Isaiah 45:11 says: “Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.”
When you command the year, you align time with God’s purpose for your life. Time carries spiritual assignments, and uncommanded seasons are vulnerable to spiritual attacks. Silence allows destiny thieves and delays to operate, but commanding establishes spiritual clarity, authority, and direction.
The Bible says we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual wickedness in heavenly places. Because of this reality, believers must take spiritual responsibility for their seasons.
The morning is the gateway of the day. Many spiritual activities are believed to take place at this gateway, which is why believers must rise and command the morning. Job 38 shows that commanding the morning shakes wickedness out of the earth.
When you command your year:
- The year works in your favor
- The year refuses evil instructions against you
- The year yields abundance
- Each day becomes ordered by God
- Heaven and earth align with your destiny
- Wickedness is shaken out of your days
Commanding positions you as a spiritual ruler operating under God’s authority. The enemy respects spiritual authority that is exercised with faith.
Potential threats become testimonies when authority is enforced.
How to Command the Year
- Enforce spiritual authority from the foundation of the year
- Seize the gate of the year before the enemy captures it
- Dismantle every satanic agenda programmed into the year
- Establish dominion over the spiritual calendar of the year
- Break every altar speaking against your name this year
- Dislodge powers positioned to resist your progress
- Capture the spiritual atmosphere governing your destiny
When Jesus stood at Lazarus’ tomb, He first prayed gently to the Father:
“Father, thank you for hearing me always.”
But when it was time to exercise authority, He cried with a loud voice:
“LAZARUS, COME FORTH.”
This shows two dimensions of prayer — communion and command.
God desires believers to operate in authority. The year carries destiny, and destiny must be commanded into manifestation.
